Centre Point Bandar Utama, Bandar Utama, 47400 Petaling Jaya
獅子頭飯 Lion's Head Rice $9 👍👍😋😋
奶茶 TehC $2.60 👍😋
Highlights: Pork, Paid Parking, Weekend Free Parking
Food Thoughts: While disappointed with the CharSiu Wan Ton Mee in the morning, I scouted around the food court to plan something for lunch.
It's a hawker that sells "Lion's Head Rice"! It is likely a huge pork meat ball (like a burger) except that it is like a tennic ball. The "Lion Head" comes in a bowl of sweet sauce, appetizing as it goes well with the rice.
Lion’s head Meatballs is a dish that is made to depict Lions head so don’t freak out just yet as it’s made out of pork and not lions. This Chinese dish is made out of enormous pork meatballs stewed with vegetables. There are two versions: first, the plain one where meatballs are stewed or steamed with Napa cabbages and second, the red version where it is cooked with cabbage, bamboo shoots or tofu in a soy-sauce-based sauce. The large meatball resembles lion’s head and the chinese cabbage as its mane. It originated from the Jiangsu province and it later a popular Shanghai cuisine with the influx of migrants during the late 19th to early 20th century.
Review: 6 / 10 👍👍😋😋
Opening Hours: 07:00am - 09:30pm
