Thoughts: The only "Chinese hawker" at Etiqa Twins food court offers both meat and vegetarian dishes. In fact, when you order their fried noodles or fried rice; you can request for with or without egg and "no meat" as well, it is therefore very flexible as long as you are not too particular perhaps about other things like using the wok that cook meat to also cook the vegetables. For very strict vegetarians, they are indeed very particular about cooking utensils not touching any meat or the forbidden 5 (大蒜 Garlic、蔥Onion、薤 Scallions(藠頭、小蒜)、韭菜 Leeks, 興渠 Asafoetida). This is all true as I did have a University room mate who will clean all utensils very very thoroughly before he starts to cook his vegetarian dishes and he avoided even the forbidden 5 above; a very discipline vegetarian who is doing his PhD at that time at the University.
My choice of vegetables (including egg) today with the rice was 腐乳杂斋菜 braised vegetables with fermented bean curd + 煎蛋 fried egg + 翁菜 Kang Kong + 红豆炒蛋 red beans with egg. There were so other appetizing meaty selections available, LOL! But the stall does offer many dishes for vegetarian, with or without egg.
Opening Hours: 07:30am - 02:00pm
