01.07.2017 Lunch
@ 栄寿司 Sakae Sushi Subang Parade SS 16
5, SS 16/1, Subang Parade, 47500 Subang Jaya
鍋燒烏冬面 Nabeyaki Udon $16.99
软壳蟹芝麻抹茶荞麦冷面 Goma Soft Shell Crab Cha Soba $19.90
Thoughts: Suprisingly, Sakae Sushi's founder is Singaporean Douglas Foo; Sakae Sushi (Kanji: 栄寿司) is a restaurant chain based in Singapore serving Japanese cuisine, and is the flagship brand of Apex-Pal International Ltd. with its first restaurant in Raffles Place in 1997, 20 years ago. Aimed at the low to mid-level pricing market, it offers sushi, sashimi, teppanyaki, yakimono, nabemono, tempura, agemono, ramen, udon, soba. The Chain has over 40 outlets in Singapore, over 30 in Malaysia, 1 in Thailand, 6 in China, 3 in Philippines, and 4 in Indonesia but none in Japan! Last web search, it now has over 250 outlets in more than 10 countries across Asia!
The Sakae Sushi at Subang Parade must have been there for more than 10 years. The Sakae's Iconic Green Frog is my favorite, although I yet to purchase any of the "frog" merchandise. The Ordering system here since its first opening at Subang Parade is an interactive menu via an iPad like device.
The 鍋燒烏冬面 Nabeyaki Udon comes with a Prawn Tempura, and the 软壳蟹芝麻抹茶荞麦冷面 Goma Soft Shell Crab Cha Soba is served with sesame sauce. Both very nice, of course I did not eat the Prawn Tempura nor the Crab, one for each of my kids!

Opening hours: estimate 10:00am to 10:00pm
