Thoughts: Hailed to be one of the best fine dining in Penang island. 靛 Indigo restaurant, located at the 1st floor of the iconic Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion does allow one to wonder about the life style of the wealthy business man 張弼士 Cheong Fatt Tze in the 19th century.
靛 Indigo restaurant's lunch 3 course meal offers 6 choices of startes, 6 choices of main course and 2 choices of desserts, end with coffee/tea. A large selection of wine pairing are also available!
The starter was a typicial bread and butter, and next I chose the fried calamari salad, not too oily and garnished with a generous bed of salad. Suffice to say that the duck leg was perfectly cooked garnished with an interesting combination of 煮水梨 poached pear, 菠菜 spinach, floating on 欧洲防风草酱 parsnip puree and 八角 star anise reduction sauce.
Expect around 90 minutes to enjoy the 3-course meal, I booked mine in advance via tableapp! Excellent meal in a restaurant inspired by Cheong Fatt Tze himself, in a setting of "West meets East" where the design compliments the fine dining created and presented by Chef Weng!
