Thoughts: The Restaurant "虾米王 Prawn Noodle King" prides itself as the biggest buyer of prawn heads & shells in Malaysia. To prepare their special prawn broth, it claims to be using over 6,000kg of prawn heads every month! Well, I do agree the prawn broth and the sambal sauce were definitely delectable.
From the Basic Prawn Noodle at rm$10.90 which was what I had for breakfast all-the-way to the rm$46.90 of what's called the "四大天王虾面 Four Heavenly", there are 7 variants of Prawn Noodle; noticeably there is even a "蝦蛄虾面 Mantis Prawn Noodle" variant.
This branch in USJ10 just open business (maybe around or before CNY). The shop at OUG (opened in Sept 2017) have lots of reviews from Klang Valley foodies.
Melvin Kuo (the owner) is committed to maintain the legacy of a Prawn Mee (where in Penang is referred to as Hokkien Mee) seller who traded at 橡陵福建面 Seang Lim restaurant in Jalan Macalister, Penang since 1981. Annie Loh, known for her Hokkien mee with mantis prawn, sold her Prawn Mee King business, lock, stock and barrel to Kuo when she ceased operating in December 2016 . Her famous Prawn Mee King signboard now occupies a spot in Kuo’s restaurant. (Source: The Star)
The rm$20.90 蝦蛄虾面 Mantis Prawn Mee is now in my to-eat-list.
Rating: 7 / 10 👍👍😋😋
