Thoughts: From the McDonald Facebook page says "The story of McDonald’s first began in 1955 when 雷·克羅克 Ray Kroc opened the first restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois. It then grew on to be a worldwide corporation spanning 117 countries and serving more than 60 million customers everyday."
BUT 雷·克羅克 Ray Kroc wasn't the original founder of McDonald's, it is however his persistence, innovation and business-savvy that helped the company become what it is today. It is true that in April 1955 Kroc did launched the "McDonald's Systems, Inc.", later known as McDonald's Corporation, in Des Plaines, Illinois.
The story of McDonald really began with Richard McDonald and Maurice McDonald (known as the 麥當勞兄弟 McDonald's brothers) where they opened their first Hamburger joint in 1940 in 聖貝納迪諾 San Bernardino, 加利福尼亞州 California. In 1948 they took a risk by streamlining their operations and introducing their "Speedee Service System" featuring 15 cent hamburgers. McDonalds brothers "Speedee Service System" is a process called streamlining much like an assembly line (maybe they got the idea from Henry Ford's "Moving assembly Line"). For that, the McDonalds brothers painstakingly device every step and movement of labor in the Kitchen to be pre-arranged scientifically to avoid any screw ups, and from the beginning to the end where a hamburger is delivered to the customer is a well working streamlining process. The McDonald brothers were reluctant to expand their franchising business because when they tried before, the other locations weren't staying up to specific codes that the brothers had set in their restaurants, and the brothers couldn't retain the quality they expected, which led to loss of customer sales. To sum it up, the McDonald brother's franchising business ventures were not that successful.

At the same time, Ray Kroc was a salesman for a 奶昔攪拌機供應商 milkshake mixer supplier when in 1954, he stumbled upon the McDonald brothers' hamburger stand at Route 66 in San Bernardino, California. Kroc saw that its opportunities of the McDonald brother's "Speedee Service System" where speed, price and consistency, combined with low operation cost, and easily replaceable unskilled labor could be reproduced again and again. It is Ray Kroc's persistence that persuaded many hard-working franchisees who wanted their own business to buy in the McDonalds concept but couldn't individually compete with the big businesses. Kroc thus was the man who was responsible for successfully organizing, franchising and advertising the entire McDonald's business. In 1961 Kroc finally bought out the McDonald brothers but the McDonald brothers continued to operate their single stand until competition from a franchised unit forced their well-funded retirement. Today, the original McDonald location in San Bernardino is the home to the Unofficial 麥當勞博物館 McDonald's Museum.
In December 1980, Gerbang Alaf Restaurants Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Golden Arches Restaurants Sdn Bhd) Licensee of McDonald’s won the license to operate McDonald’s in Malaysia. The first McDonald’s restaurant subsequently opened its doors at Jalan Bukit Bintang on 29 April 1982. That corner shop lot at the junction of Jalan Sultan Ismail and Bukit Bintang Street is still in operations today!

USJ10's McDonalds is probably the first McDonald in the USJ area AND I think it used to be 24hours but now it closes at 2am for a 5 hours break before opening at 7am. During the pandemic, it also started to offer a Park and Order system where a McD attendant will be taking your orders where customers park their car at designated parking lots in front of the Fast Food restaurant. The corner shop lot offers 2 floors of McDonald's dining with outdoor seating at the upper floor, and there are tables with electric plugs for the occasional digital nomads.
