Thoughts: USJ1 Damen Mall's "Coffee & Toast" offers a new menu now with fewer choices, unfortunately the unique Egg Coffee is no longer in the new menu. Nevertheless today's rm$13.80 "經典印尼炒即食麵(營多麵) Classic Indomie" was not too bad. A very simple dish with 印尼炒方便麵 Fried Indonesian Instant noodle with 脆皮炸雞肉 crispy friend chicken tenders, 豆腐片 tofu slices and a 太陽蛋 sunny side. 

Instant noodles were born in Japan in 1958, about 10-odd years after Japan's defeat in the World War II. It was also the time when black and white television as new media was about to drastically change people's mind of their consumption patterns. Instant noodles were invented by 台灣日本人 Taiwanese-Japanese inventor 安藤 百福 Momofuku Ando in Japan. It was first marketed on 25 August 1958 by 安藤 Ando's company, 日清食品株式会社 Nissin, under the brand name "日清チキンラーメン Chikin Ramen". 日清食品 Nissin Foods has enabled mass-production of instant noodles by establishing the entire process of industrial method of manufacturing (production method of 速食麵生產方法 flash frying noodles): from 製作麵條 noodle-making, 蒸 steaming, 調味  seasoning, and to 油熱脫水 dehydrating in oil heat. The product that becomes ready to eat just in two minutes by adding boiling water was dubbed "マジックラーメン a Magic Ramen," and became an instant popular sensation in Japan. And today, Japan remains the 4th country in Instant Noodle Consumption, behind 中國/香港 China/Hong Kong, 印尼 Indonesia, and 印度 India as the World top 3 of Instant Noodle Demand and Consumption.

Interestingly, one of the most popular Instant Noodle 出前一丁 in Hong Kong is the creation of 日清食品 Nissin Food. "出前ラーメン Demae Ramen" or "だまえいっちょ Demae Itcho" (Japanese: 出前一丁 which translates to "delivery one order'") was first introduced in Japan in 1969 and entered the market in Hong Kong the next year. Since then, it has become one of the most popular instant noodle brands in Hong Kong, with a wide range of flavors. Today, 出前一丁 remains one of the very common instant noodle dish in many 香港茶餐廳 Hong Kong Char Chan Teng.

Being the no.2 World Consumption of Instant Noodle, 營多麵 Indomie is probably the most popular Instant Noodle in 印尼 Indonesia with its 270 million population. 營多麵 Indomie was introduced in 1972, and is a brand of instant noodle produced by the Indonesian company Indofood. Indofood itself is the largest instant noodle producer in the world with 16 factories and an estimated 150億包 15 billion packets of 營多麵 Indomie produced annually. 營多麵 Indomie is also exported to more than 60 countries around the world.
