Thoughts: Since the new expansion to 2 shop lots, USJ 17's 新永順茶餐室 Restoran Weng Soon Jaya is now as busy as before, with at least 17 stalls and more than 24+ choices of breakfast available as early as 7am.

One of the latest addition to Weng Soon Jaya is the 阿庚鴨魚粥麵 Famous Ah Kang Duck/Fish Porridge and Noodle (probably already a few months in the kopitiam)! The stories begin back to the 1960s in the little small town of 北干那那 Pekan Nenas, 柔佛州 Johor where it began with Ah Kun who sold the 鹵鴨粥 braised duck porridge back then during the 1960s. The recipes was passed from Ah Kun to 阿庚的父親 Ah Kang’s dad and they started selling them back in 1974. Their signatures were 燜鹵鴨粥 braised duck porridge / 燜鹵鴨粿条 kuay teow, 西刀魚粥 ikan Parang (Saito Saury Fish) porridge, 鬥鯧粥 Pomfret porridge, or 金目鱸魚 ikan Siakap (Sea Bass) porridge. 
After the passing of his father, 阿庚 Ah Kang moved to Klang Valley and started the business again with his sibling in 2007 at Subang Jaya Section 14 under the name 田記特製湯粥飯店 Restoran Tien Kee (the shop is no longer in operation). Now, Ah Kang’s son JC mooted the idea that he wanted to revive his grandfather's legacy and turn it into a famous hawker chain called 阿庚鴨魚粥麵 Ah Kang famous Duck & Fish porridge/ noodle.

The rm$9.50 "燜鹵鴨粿条 Braised Duck Kuay Teow" cane be either dry version or soup version or the signature porridge variant. A bit expensive but the Braised Duck was definitely very tasty which is tender and delicious, albeit perhaps dry kuay teow may not be a good choice compared to porridge! For sure, will be back to sample the fish porridges (from rm$9.50 to rm$13.50) in the future.
