Thoughts: USJ21's "鴻豐港式點心 Hoong Foong Dim Sum" probably is the longest-standing 點心餐廳 Dim Sum Restaurant in USJ offering from a single 叉燒包 Chao Sao Bao or 生肉包 Sang Yoke Bao at rm$3.50 to a plate of 燒汁烟肉券 BBQ Bacon Roll for rm$13 AND with over 60 types of Dim Sum choices. Where it used to be rm$5 to rm$6 per plate just a few years ago, but Dim Sum are now mostly at rm$7 per plate/basket at these neighborhood shop lot style Dim Sum restaurants.

鴻豐港式點心 Hoong Foong Dim Sum is a typical Dim Sum restaurant setup in a neighborhood shop lot; similar to USJ10's 錦選點心 Jin Xuang as well as 富興點心 Foo Hing. The USJ 21 鴻豐 Hoong Foong used to offer All-day-long Dim Sum and even operate for Dinner session BUT for some years ago, it only offer Dim Sum until 3:30pm on weekdays and maybe 5pm on weekends; while the only shop lot style Dim Sum that still offer Dim Sum at night is USJ10's 錦選 Jin Xuang!

Although Dim Sum is inextricably linked to 粵菜 Cantonese cuisine, it actually did not originate in 廣州 Canton. There are several stories of the origin of Dim Sum as one source says that the first Dim Sum was made 2,500 years ago, as evident in the poetry and music of that time; as well also stories about the Dim Sum appeared in teahouses along the 絲綢之路 Silk Road at that time as a light accompaniment to appetite-stimulating tea as travelers stopped to rest along the way. Another story is that according to a legend, the word "點心 Dim Sum" 源於戰場 (266年～420年) comes from the battlefield. During the 東晉時期 Eastern Jin Dynasty, a 將軍 General sent 烘製的糕餅 baked cakes to the 前線 front line to express his "點點心意 little heart" in order to comfort the soldiers who fought the enemy bravely. Since then, the word "點心 Dim Sum" has spread.
