Thoughts: The Malay Café opened on Saturday 年三十 January 21st (a few days ago), and was here on that day for a rm$10 東海岸大港飯 East Coast Nasi Dagang and the breakfast left a positive note! The new Café "Membawang" still have not put up the new shop's sign board (the FAIZCO signboard from the previous tenant is till there). 

While on Saturdays and Sundays, there will be 3 more breakfast items: 大港飯 Nasi Dagang, 叻參 Laksam, and 柔佛叻沙 Laksa Johor; on the breakfast menu for everyday will be 椰漿飯 Nasi Lemak and 隆冬 Lontong. AND today's 2nd visit for breakfast is a rm$7.50 蔬菜咖哩隆冬 Lontong Sayur. The Lontong as usual, comes with its beautiful shade of yellow color due to the 薑黃 turmeric added to the thick coconut flavored broth (often referred to as "Kuah Lodeh or 黃咖哩 Gulai Kuning"). The bowl also comes with the usual 馬來飯粿 compressed rice, 豆腐皮 tofu skins, 豆腐卜 tofu pok,天貝 tempeh, 切絲胡蘿蔔 julienne carrots, and topped with a half 煮雞蛋 boiled egg plus not too spicy 參巴醬 sambal sauce.
While 隆冬 Lontong is a popular dish in 大馬 Malaysia, 新加坡 Singapore, and 印度 Indonesia, it is documented with an origin in 印度尼西亞 Indonesia. The main ingredient of the Lontong is the 壓縮米飯 compressed rice (or Ketupat, in Malaysia it is called "Nasi himpit" literally "present rice"). History dictates that it is Sunan Kalijaga (Son of a Duke of Tuban in East Jawa) was the first to introduce Lontong to the Javanese people in the 15th century.

It may be said that 隆冬 Lontong is a vegetarian dish (referred to as 蔬菜咖哩隆冬 Lontong Sayur), served with Gulai sauce and vegetables (like chopped Cabbage and Carrots, 佛手瓜 Chayote, Tempeh, Tofu, Boiled egg, Sambal and even Keropok (Crackers). However, the non-vegetarian Lontong can come with 蝦 Shrimps,  墨魚 Sotong, and even 仁當牛肉 Beef Rendang!
