Thoughts: "Hoy Tod Chaw Lae" is quite famous in Bangkok and the restaurant has appeared in Thai local TV shows and is said to be one of the must eat in Bangkok if you like Pat Thai. The restaurant can be reached easily via Thong Lor BTS station Exit 3, just turn right until the a junction facing Thong Lor road and just take a left from there; walk past another famous shop "Mae Varee Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango" and less than 100 feet will be "Hoy Tod Chaw Lae".
The restaurant may not be appealing by the look of its entrance; Their signature dish are the shrimp pad thai and the stir fried mussel and oyster omelet (hoy tod). I think the restaurant does use less than normal flour or starch to the amount of egg in the batter, which gives a very good eggy taste and texture. The shrimp Pat Thai was very nice, maybe a little sweet but the chili sauce on the table will add the spicy flavor desired; also provided is a plate of bean sprout, lime, and green onions. The "raw" vegetables and sour lime adds flavor to the oily fried omelette. Dishes are maybe around rm$16 - rm$20 and maybe slightly higher than other places that offer Pad Thai and Hoy Tod.
The 泰式蠔煎 Or-Nor (Thai name is "Hoy Tod" for Oyster Omelette) is slightly pricier at rm$20/plate. Also fried with lots of egg and bean sprout with few pieces of oyster in it. "Hoy Tod" is also a very popular and common Thai street food in Bangkok.
"Hoy Tod Chaw Lae" is worth a visit as it is also easily accessible and close to a train station.
