Only in recent years in the early 1980s that Gems stone mines were discovered in Vietnam; especially important are Ruby stone mines in Northern Vietnam, from deposits in Luk Yen and Yen Bai areas. Subsequently in the 1990s, various Gem deposits were discovered throughout Southern Vietnam as well. It is not surprising to find many Gem Stone stops in tourist cities such as Da Nang.
For more than 1000 years, stone-carving continues to be an important livelihood for few hundred craftsman in Da Nang itself. There is a village in Danang called the "Non Nuoc village" which houses "The Danang Sculpture Foundation". The village gets had abundant access to marble from the "Marble Mountains of Da Nang", making it a place suitable for stone-carvers producing sculptures. This particular shop not far from the Marble Mountains is one of many shops that show case good selections of Marble carvings and Gem Stones!
Besides other Vietnamese souvenirs, the shop also offers "Cat Poop Coffee beans" (also known as "Coffee Luwak" or Civet Cat Coffee!) Rating: 6 / 10 👍😋
