Thoughts: Back to Farmer's Bar (Puchong location) again for more Craft Beer this week! Today's first craft beer of the afternoon is Hong Kong craft beer called 麥子手工啤釀酒廠 Mak's Brewery established in 2014 by a 阿波(麥波) Mr Mak and is one of the few breweries in Hong Kong that produces craft beer. Main brandings are 鹽田啤酒 Salt Farm 及小麥啤酒，Also including their 招牌桂圓啤 Longan Pale Ale Beer, 薄荷茶啤酒 Mint Tea Beer, 本地香茅啤酒 Lemongrass Beer, 甘蔗 Sugarcane Beer 及咖啡啤酒 Coffee Beer etc all with an ABV of 4.7% to 5%. Mak also works with many local shops promoting his craft beer, for example 銅鑼灣's 太平洋帆船酒店地下餐廳酒吧 (山旮旯 San Ka La), 尖沙咀's 串酒里燒烤專門店 Kebabeer , 旺角煙廠街 SNKRHOLic , 九龙太子's 牧羊少年咖啡館 The Alchemist Cafe & Bistro and 香港電視網上購物 HKTVMALL online shopping. Their first beers were initially available in 西貢鹽田梓 Yim Tin Tsai, Sai Kung and hence named as 鹽田 Yim Tin but according to web search their current brewery is at 香港荃湾横龙街 Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong called 麥氏釀酒廠.
Mak's craft beer sampled today was its "鹽田 Salt Farm" with a 4.7%ABV and its a Belgian Pale Ale, light with fruitiness and easy drinking beer.
Second craft beer is also a Belgian beer but brewed by Dupont Brewery in Belgium itself. The brewery was founded in 1950, it is on a working farm which dates back to 1759 and has significant brewing history. 比利时精酿啤酒 Saiso Dupont comes in golden color but looks muddy (hazy), a little bit bitter and at 6.5%ABV.
