Today's Dinner is the Ito Shop lot that offers Ala-Carte Japanese dishes and Bento with excellent varieties: 日式開胃菜 Japanese Appetizer, 單點生魚片/壽司 Ala Carte Sashimi/Sushi, 壽司捲壽司 Sushi Maki Roll Sushi, 鐵板燒 Teppanyaki dish, 手捲 Temaki Rolls, 烤物 Yakimono Grills, 鍋物火鍋 Nabemono Hot Pots, 日式油炸食品 Japanese fried items, 大食寺飯類 Oshokuji Rice dishes, 麵類 Menrui (Noodles), 蒸菜及湯菜 Steamed and Soup dish, 生魚片/壽司便當 Sashimi/Sushi Bento, 海鮮/豬肉/雞肉便當 Seafood/Pork/Chicken Bento, 拉麵套餐 Ramen set, 日式甜點 Japanese Desserts. This Ito offers 主廚發辦 Omakase (おまかせ) from rm$188 to rm$588 that serve 生魚片 Sashimi, 壽司 Sushi, 天婦羅 Tempura, 鰻魚 Unagi, 和牛 Wagyu beef, 清酒 Sake, 啤酒 Beer & etc. (see the Omakase menu here) The Rio branch also offers interesting set menu like the rm$88 "秋"招牌生魚片午餐套餐 Sashimi Signature Lunch that comes with 日本開胃菜 Japanese Appetizer and the 生魚片主菜 Sashimi Main Course.
For the Japanese Dinner today, Starter is a rm$22 "土瓶蒸し Dobin Mushi. Dobin mushi (土瓶蒸し) literally means "to steam a Tea Pot". It is a 傳統日本湯 traditional Japanese broth, steamed and served in a 土賓茶壺 Dobin Tea Pot with 魚肉 fish, 蝦 shrimp and meats like 雞肉 chicken, 豬肉 Pork, 醬油 soy sauce, 檬汁 lime, and 松茸 matsutake mushroom. However, some Japanese do not prefer the 擠檸檬汁 lime squeeze. Dobin mushi (土瓶蒸し), a beloved dish originating from the 日本松本市 Japanese city of Matsumoto, has long been a leading staple of traditional Japanese cuisine. mid-1800s, when a food-loving monk named 土瓶ミョちん Dobin Myochin was said to have created the very first version of Dobin Mushi. As part of his search for new flavors, he traveled across Japan, gathering ingredients wherever he could find them and experimenting with different combinations. Legend has it that one day, his culinary experimentation yielded a 清淡的素湯 light, brothy soup filled with 蔬菜 vegetables, 蘑菇 mushrooms, and the 海藻昆布 seaweed kombu. The monk declared it to be a delightful surprise, and so Dobin Mushi was born. Through word of mouth, Dobin Mushi soon spread throughout 松本市 Matsumoto and other nearby towns, gaining an ardent following as people discovered this tasty, nourishing soup. Over time, local variations began to emerge as chefs added their own unique touches, like adding 新鮮的魚 fresh fish or 豬肉代替雞肉 substituting pork for chicken. Today, each family and restaurant serves up its own distinct version, making Dobin Mushi as much a celebration of culinary creativity as it is a classic Japanese dish.
There are only 12 單點 Ala-Carte Sushi and today sampled 2 of them, price a little high a rm$8 per piece but Umami value for money. Some choices of 單點生魚片 Ala-Carte Sashimi are also available here. Another dish before the Main Course is a rm$22 "うなぎ豆腐ステーキ Unagi Tofu Steak". The interesting Tofu-based Sushi is two pieces of 日本揚げ出し豆腐 Japanese Agedashi Tofu topped with 烤鰻魚 Grilled Unagi Teppanyaki Style, then topped with 鰹魚片 Bonito Flakes, 海藻 Seaweed and 蘿蔔 Grated Daikon (Daikon Oroshi), sitting on 淡醬油 light Shoyu and 蔥 green onions
Main Course is a rm$48 "サーモン刺身膳 Salmon Sashimi Zen" set comes with 7 pieces of fresh サーモン刺身 Salmon Sashimi, interesting small plate of 泡菜 Kimchi, 茶碗蒸しCawhan Mushi (Steamed Egg) , and a bowl of 野菜 (Yasai) Salad.
