Thoughts: The little café called "17gram beans" is managed and operated by a young Malay couple "Emi and Jai"; and the Emi or is it Jai (the husband, I think) is a self-made 咖啡師 barista. First visit here was June 25.2022, and your cup of Coffee is always carefully handcrafted by the Barista whom previously was an Accounting who found passion in Coffee.
Today's rm$8 "美式黑咖啡 Americano" is hand-pressed using 亞齊加約咖啡 Aceh Goya Coffee bean (Arabica) from 蘇門答臘島 Sumatra, 印尼 Indonesia. Aceh Gayo is located in the 蘇門答臘群島北部 Northern area of Sumatra Island and is about 100km west of the city of 棉蘭 Medan and Kopi Gayo or Coffee Gayo is very popular in this part of the Sumatra Island. The Arabica origin of 亞齊加約咖啡 Aceh Goya Coffee is grown 有機 organically at a high elevation of 1000 meters above sea levels of the 蘇門答臘群島 Sumatra island mountains (the 亞齊加約高原 Aceh Gayo highlands), where the soil type is ideal with cool and humid climates. Farmers in Gayo use a distinct wet process called "Giling Basah (or Wet Griding or Wet hulled technique)" that results in unique flavors. The technique is where 印尼咖啡加工商 Indonesian coffee processors called to describe the method they use to remove the hulls of Coffea Arabica; and which basically is an accelerated way of drying the coffee and separating it from its parchment when the bean is still wet. It is the 荷蘭人 Dutch people that brought 阿拉比卡咖啡 Arabica coffee from the continent of 非洲 Africa to 爪哇 Java in the 17th century to be cultivated in a variety of locations and highlands; the Dutch planted the first coffee plantations in 亞齊加約高原 Gayo highlands in 1904.Thoughts: The little café called "17gram beans" is managed and operated by a young Malay couple "Emi and Jai"; and the Emi or is it Jai (the husband, I think) is a self-made 咖啡師 barista.
