The few rows of shop lots is hidden among the residential houses in Seksyen 17, but is about 500m from SPRINT Highway of Jalan 16/11 (not too far from Phileo Damansara)!

It is one of PJs casual dining-and-drinking RestoBar, tucked away in the leafy surrounding. LAVAA is the creation of Chef-owner Suren Krishnan (also the owner of Tipsy Boar, also in PJ Seksyen 17). From spicy porky beer bites, to Asian rice and noodle dishes, plus western grilled, pasta, pizza, or burgers; many with that twist of porky, spicy Indian flavor.
Today's beer bite is an interesting rm$18.90 "油炸魷魚配姜花塔塔醬 Deep fried calamari and bunga kantan tartar", and East-West fusion muchie perfect with a glass of ice-cold beer. Probably soaked/marinated in curry spices before deep fried, with an interesting spicy and addictive "bunga kantan tartar" as the 塔塔醬 (Tartar sauce). "Bunga Kantan" is 火炬薑花 or Torch Ginger Flower (a staple flavoring in Southeast Asian dishes, and the entire plant, including the seeds, flowers, and leaves, are edible.); went well as an interesting spicy dipping sauce.
The food as sampled today is pretty good, but the RestoBar also offers Ice Cold Beers, bottled Beers, a variety of Liquor and maybe the specialty are Cocktails, with names like "Nenek Kebayan", "Tipsy Kak Lima", "The Ally Cat", and many more. Looking forward for maybe some Cocktail adventure and other porky beer bites in the next visit!
LAVAA takes up a corner shop lot, with indoor air-conditioning seating areas as well as more tables by the side verandah overlooking lots of greeneries. MBPJ parking as well as road-side parking is available but maybe slightly easier after 7pm. According to its website, the GastroPub opened somewhere in January or February 2020, just before the Covid-19 lockdown in March 2020.
