Thoughts: The Malaysian or Singaporean word "Lepak" is in the Oxford Dictionary with the meaning as "(especially of a young person) spend one's time aimlessly loitering or loafing around". AND the best "Lepaking" place in all of USJ is probably USJ11's "Boom Town Cafe"! The outdoor "Makan and Hanging-out" place lights up in the evening from 7pm to 2am; and now is ever even more popular since the relaxed SOPs that took effect in Malaysia on 1 May 2022. Night time at Boom Town offers 煎餅 pancakes, otak-otak, 燒烤 BBQ, 多種飲品選擇 large choice of drinks including of course 奶茶 Teh Tarik, good choice of Boom Town 漢堡 Burgers, 沙爹 Satay, 椰漿飯 Nasi Lemak, 馬來炒飯 Nasi Goreng, 炸魚條 Lekor etc. all things 清真 Halal here. 

Boom Town Café is quiet in the morning except for:

馬來雜飯 a mixed rice stall (I think)

新鮮椰子水 a fresh coconut drink stall

and Kapten Corner

Kapten Corner starts a noon 12pm, customer can either dine-in under the trees or a quick take-away and there are no parking challenges here in the afternoon. The popular "Kapten Corner" was created by Captain Azrin, an actual Pilot who was retrenched in 2020 when the pandemic hit on every business and especially the aviation industry (the interview).

My first visit to "Kapten Corner" was 12 March.2021, it was a rm$7 怡保咖哩面 Ipoh Curry Mee. When the stall started somewhere in October or November 2020, the 44-year old Captain wore his full pilot uniform to serve his customers and instantly became a hit and the story went viral in social media. Of course, Captain Azrin is likely back to his flying in Malindo Air today BUT his "Kapten Corner" wasn't just a gimmick, otherwise it wouldn't be still around today. The family business offers a variety of street food including the 怡保咖哩麵 Ipoh Curry Mee, 北馬叻沙 Laksa Utara, 芒果飯 Mango Rice, 水果羅惹 Fruit Rojak, 糯米(雞肉/牛肉) Pulut Ayam/Daging, 甜粥 Bubur Manis, and 爆米花 Popcorn.

Instead of rm$7, today's lunch choice is "北馬叻沙 Laksa Utara". Comes in a ready to take-away container without the broth (packed separately), the bowl comes with the usual 叻沙粉 Laksa noodle, 生菜 lettuce, 黃瓜 cucumber, lots of 紅洋蔥 onions, 紅辣椒 red chili, and 半個煮雞蛋 half a boiled egg. The 亞參風味 asam-flavored thick broth is not spicy but sour, sweet, savory; with 沙丁魚肉 sardines meat and a variety of herbs like 叻沙葉(越南香菜) daun kesum (vietnamese coriander), 火炬花姜  bunga kantan (torch flower ginger), and 羅望子片 asam keping (tamarind slices); typical recipe for Laksa Utara. 

The original fish-based assam flavored rice noodle of "北馬叻沙 Laksa Utara" (also called 吉打叻沙 Laksa Kedah) recipe is a popular noodle dish from 北馬半島 North of Malaysia Peninsular, especially as a comfort food in 吉打 Kedah and 玻璃市 Perlis. 北馬叻沙 Laksa Utara is one of the different incarnations of of a variety of Laksa available in Malaysia!
