"Moo-Ka-Ta Krua" offers an extensive menu choice: from Thai noodles and rice dishes, Thai skewers, Salads, Thai desserts and beverages, and not forgetting Thai style steamboat and BBQ grill, and your favorite Thai Beers! It is quite affordable as some noodles and rice dishes starts at around rm$8 per serving. The Thai restaurants takes up a corner shop lot at the end of the Bubble Tea street along SS15/4, and it is just opposite Asia e-University building. The restaurant offers more outdoor tables (with fan an open air) than indoor tables.
It is called “Mookata” in Malaysia and Singapore but the actual Thai word is "หมูกะทะ Mu Kratha" in Thailand where “Mu” means “豬肉 pig” and “Kratha” means “煎鍋 skillet” in Thai; so the word Mookata or "Mu Kratha" should mean 泰式豬肉燒烤火鍋 (some form of Thai Grill). “หมูกะทะ Mookata” is a Thai specialty originated from Northern Thailand of 清邁 Chiang Mai featuring a special pot that combines 燒烤 barbeque and 火鍋 steamboat together. And some even said that the "Mookata" is a Korean inspired cooking, but it probably resembles more of a combination of a Korean barbecue and a Chinese hot pot. However, the difference is that while Koreans uses BBQ Grill, Thai people generally uses Charcoal and this dining concept spread throughout Thailand and into the 菲律賓 Philippines, 馬來西亞 Malaysia, 印度尼西亞 Indonesia and 新加坡 Singapore.Food today: 7.5 / 10 👍👍👍😋😋
