Thoughts: A new hidden gem in USJ! The little café called "17gram beans" is managed by a young Malay couple "Emi and Jai"; and the Emi or is it Jai (the husband, I think) is a self-made 咖啡師 barista. Previously worked in the Corporate world in Accounting, but decided to venture into his passion for making a good cup of coffee. You can find the café at the ground floor (previously 7/11) which is next to the lift (before the escalator up the LRT station).

Instead of using a coffee machine like Starbucks; Emi uses a hand pressed espresso maker and therefore every step of a cup of coffee from grinding the coffee bean, weighing, then using the Manual (Lever) Espresso Machine to make the espresso, ...etc as Emi explains while making a cup of Latte for me. And today's excellent rm$8 拿鐵 Latte is using coffee bean from 埃塞俄比亞 Ethiopia; and Emi changes to different coffee beans weekly (and next week will be coffee beans from 印度尼西亞 Indonesia). "17 gram beans" also offer different small bites (on a rotation basis) like curry puff, nasi lemak bungkus, packets of kueh etc; and maybe many LRT commuters will have their cuppa take-away, but the Café also offers 2 low chair tables and high chair at the coffee bar.
