Thoughts: I still remember the multi-hawker-stall Chinese kopitiams in the early 70s, a corner shop lot in Petaling Jaya Sea Park, along Jalan 21/19, the Kopitiam is called "百樂門茶餐廳 Paramount Kopitiam" today (can't remember what it was called then 50 years ago). These kinds of "multi-hawker-stall Chinese kopitiam" are our unique culture for the Malaysian Chinese, and these kinds of setup must have been around many years before the 1970s.
Thoughts: I still remember the multi-hawker-stall Chinese kopitiams in the early 70s, a corner shop lot in Petaling Jaya Sea Park, along Jalan 21/19, the Kopitiam is called "百樂門茶餐廳 Paramount Kopitiam" today (can't remember what it was called then 50 years ago). These kinds of "multi-hawker-stall Chinese kopitiam" are our unique culture for the Malaysian Chinese, and these kinds of setup must have been around many years before the 1970s.
Of course back then in the 70s, a plate of 叉燒雲吞面 Charsiew Wanton Mee was just rm$0.30 compared to today's rm$6.50 or rm$7 per plate; nevertheless the multi-hawker-stall Chinese kopitiams still serve its purpose today, offering quick and affordable comfort food for average to lower income group.
And back to today's visit to another new multi-hawker-stall Kopitiam in SS15. To start, there are really quite a lot of eateries in SS15, but with so many F&B choices here; for many years I believe there is this 2-shop lot Chinese multi-hawker Kopitiam "桂生餐馆 Restoran Kwai Sun" which is super busy almost every day and packed during the weekends. But besides 桂生 Kwai Sun, there really are quite a few more such multi hawker stalls Chinese Kopitiams in SS15, and the latest addition is along SS 15/4C:

Today's little breakfast venture is SS15/4C's "友昇茶餐室 Restoran Yew Sing" with about 14 tables and with at least 7 stalls offering 12 or more varieties of Chinese hawker foods:

Looks like the 雲吞面 Wanton Mee stall is the most popular stall in this Kopitiam, not just for the Dine-in but many customers come for take-away. The stall offers both 叉燒 Charsiew and 冬菇雞爪 Chicken feet plus Mushroom Wanton Mee with 3 size prices from rm$7(S), rm$7.50(M), and rm$8 (L). Today's rm$7 "叉燒雲吞面 Charsiew Wanton Mee" comes with good Charsiew, Wanton Mee was ok with slightly salty sauce, I also liked the Wanton, Overall a good find.
In fact, just next to "友昇茶餐室 Restoran Yew Sing" is another "new" multi-hawker-stalls Kopitiam "大食堂咖啡茶室 Restoran SJ Big Canteen" which I'd like to visit soon.
