Thoughts: The "Edifier W830BT" probably is a better choice but it is at least rm$350+ (Retail price of rm$399) either in Shopee or Lazada, the budget "Edifier W800BT Plus" can be found at half the price from around rm$119 to rm$149 compared to the suggested Retail price of rm$189! Pretty satisfied with the 12.12 at Shopee offering the Budget headphone at rm$131 (12.12 price of rm$136 - additional rm$5 coupon from the Official Edifier Shop in Shopee). The item is from Shopee Mall of the Edifier Official store at Shopee. The item is shipped from the light industrial area somewhere in Sunway Damansara and should be the address for "Inter - Asia Technology" which is specialized in technology products supply and the also the distributor for 漫步者 Edifier, 惠普 HP, 飛利浦 Philips, 貓頭鷹 Noctua.
The delivered item was well packed in bubble wrap, brand new and looked like premium packaging and arrived in 3 days from the order date on 12.Dec.2012. In the box are 2 tiny instruction manuals, a USB-C charging cable, and a 3.5毫米AUX音頻電纜 "3.5mm AUX cable" as a wired option in addition to its primary 藍牙 Bluetooth 5.1 connection option.
Immediately after Box opening, tried the Bluetooth connection to the Surface Pro 4 which was easy, and out of the box it did came with 76% of charged battery. However, the instruction manual recommended a full-charge before using it the first time. With the USB-C cable, the full charging from 0% takes about 2.5hours and it is recommended to charge it at least once every 3 months when not in use. The W800BT specification claims to have 55 hours (2 days) of continues play-back time and 800 hours (33 days) of stand-by time, and looks like many YouTube reviews says that is true.
The "漫步者W800BTPlus頭戴式立體聲藍牙耳機 Edifier W800BT Plus wireless over-ear headphone" does not have a "動臂麥克風 boom microphone" but should be an internal inline microphone embedded in the casing of the headphone, and I am guessing that this type of headphone is probably not build for long hours of online teaching (but yet to be tested). And, when the AUX cable is used, the mic is also disabled! Nice to have the option of wiring the headphone with the inclusion of the "3.5mm AUX cable" as an alternative to the Bluetooth connection. I am not too concerned with the life of the internal battery but if the headphone is charged every day, the internal battery can last about 1.5 - 3 years. If you charge it less frequently, the headphone may last longer. Then again, due to wear and tear, the average lifespan of headphones is typically around 2 - 3 years depending on usage and quality of the electronics inside the headphone.
Personally, I have no idea what the sounds are like from those headphones that are above rm$1000 or even as high as rm$5000++. Perhaps it maybe just "perceived value and performance" or they really are designed for the Professional users with "Elite ears or people with perfect pitch" as well as "Fat pockets". Expensive headphones does look a lot more premium built, more comfort, perhaps also have the best "noise cancelling features" and maybe can last a little longer and they usually have replacement parts available from the manufacturer.
