Thoughts: It is 3pm on a Monday Public Holiday afternoon, and for this Chinese kopitiam "新生活 New Life Koay Teow Soup", nearest to "The Wembley Hotel" or just opposite Komtar, it is also the last bowl of "白咖哩麵 White Curry Noodle" because the kopitiam closes for the day.

The recipe of 檳城白咖哩面 Penang White Curry Mee can be traced to the early Straits Born Chinese or 土生華人 Peranakan. It is dish with a 椰奶咖哩湯 coconut milk curry broth and usually comes with thin 黃麵 yellow noodle (or thin 米粉 Bee Hoon or rice vermicelli). The bowl usually comes with a spoon of 咖喱面酱 curry noodle paste, mixed with the white broth to create the red broth of spicy goodness. Items that topped the noodle dish are usually 豆腐卜 dried tofu pok, 豆芽 bean sprouts, 長豆 long bean, 蝦 prawns, 魚丸 fish ball, 鳥蛤 fresh cockles, 豬血 pork blood jelly and finally some 薄荷葉 mint leaves.
