Thoughts: TK Bakery or 棠記兄弟餅家 finally opens a shop lot in USJ10, no need to drive 4km+ to SS15 for some good local 蛋撻 Egg Tart and 燒包 Siew Pao! The USj10 branch of TK opened just a few weeks ago at a corner shop lot where the previous tenant was Nandos.

TK Bakery also rented a small part of the shop lot to "9號嘆茶室 9TC Kopitiam", the young man managing the little café was previously a baker at TK Bakery where he later started a Food Truck business "Co Me Kopi" specializing in Coffee. The little new Cafe is his new venture and partner with TK bakery (his previous employee).
The new Café opened just last week where it opens as early as 7:30am (same as TK bakery), and for all-day-breakfast are 吐司 Toast, 半熟蛋 half-boiled egg, and 椰漿飯/炒米粉 Nasi Lemak/Fried Noodles packet; plus of course the customer can purchase bread from TK bakery to go with the 9TC's 濃咖啡 Coffee Gao!
The Origin: in year 1935, 孔憲華先生 Mr Hoong Wah and wife, 羅嫻女士 Madam Loh Han migrated to Kuala Lumpur from 廣東 Guangdong, 中國 China with their 3 children's. They settled down in Kuala Lumpur and were blessed with four more children. In the early 50’s, 憲華先生 Mr Hoong Wah started a small dim sum business called, “棠記兄弟餅家點心 Tong Kee Brothers Buns and Dim Sum”, named after his eldest son’s given name, 孔先生 Mr Hoong, hoping all his seven children will work together as a team in succeeding the family business. The dim sum business sustained until the late 60’s. In 1969, the Hoongs understood that progressive revolution was the key to endless improvement, hence, sending the youngest brother, Heng Soon to work and explore new culinary skills from his uncle in Hong Kong. Within a short span of 3 months, he managed to master the Chinese cuisine and dim sum culinary skill. Tong Kee’s best seller, 皮酥蛋滑的棠記蛋撻 Egg tart, is the secret recipe which he brought back from this experience. Meanwhile, his mentor was renowned dim sum master, Chef Lui. In 1970, “Tong Kee Buns and Dim Sum” was revamped and given a new name, “棠記兄弟餅家 Tong Kee Brothers Confectionery”, mainly producing egg tarts, buns, chicken pies, and mooncakes, sold in a coffee house in 茨廠街 Petaling Street. Tong Kee brand’s popularity started to spread like wild fire ever since, and its egg tarts were so famous to many throughout the country. And suffice to say, the rest is history as the family business 棠記兄弟餅家 is now in its 3rd generation now and have at least 12 locations in Klang Valley; the latest of which in Subang Jaya's Taipan USJ10.Food today: 6.5 / 10 👍👍😋
