Thoughts: This is the 19th visit to USJ10's Uncle Don since the 1st visit in October 7th, 2017! USJ10's Uncle Don was its 5th outlet which was open sometime in September 2017, so the Gastropub has been in USJ10 for 4+years.
The man behind Uncle Don's is Mr Ian Ong, a law lecturer who one time even dabbed into financial services, entertainment industry and even once own an Indian Pub called "Vallavan" in SS8. But the inspiration of Uncle Don's was just 6 years ago in the third quarter of 2015, when Ong and his partner-to-be Don Daniel Theseira, a chef of almost 40 years, learnt about a coffee shop in SS3, Petaling Jaya, whose owner sold about 500 to 600 chicken chops a day. The Duo worked hard on a business model and brand slogan of “Dine like a Don everyday” that conveys the brand’s spirit of affordable dining in the simplest of way. That idea seemed to have worked very well from the beginning with their first location in SS2, Petaling Jaya and then subsequently in Publika and TTDI. 5 years later, despite the 20 month pandemic, there are now still at least 19 Uncle Don's locations in Selangor, with most branches in Klang Valley with its Central Kitchen in Sunway Damansara.

As for Uncle Don in USJ10's Taipan, after the official re-opening for Dine-in in August (3 months ago), the crowd is returning back for the Dine-in experience but the take-away business are also as busy. The Taipan location is currently still operating only at 50% Seating Capacity of 75 pax from its maximum 150 pax.
While waiting for take-away dinner, had a quick one beer therapy of the rm$11.80 雪花嘉士伯啤酒 Ice Cold Carlsberg which was definitely icy cold and an a good one. For Dinner (take-away), it is the rm$14.30 烤雞扒 Grilled Chicken Chop which comes with 3 sauce of either 燒烤醬 BBQ, 黑胡椒醬 Black Pepper or 蘑菇醬 Mushroom. The box comes with a good size tasty 烤雞扒 grilled chicken chop with 薯條 fries, 涼拌捲心菜 cold slaw, and the sauce of your choice.
