Today's visit to PJ Old Town's "芙蓉姨婆老鼠粉" is to sample the "胡椒豬肚湯" Pepper Pork Belly Soup but ended up with the rm$9.90 "咖喱叻沙" Curry Laksa (something new in "姨婆" Yi Poh menu for about a year now. The Laksa comes with 超濃叻沙汁 super thick laksa gravy, 炸豆腐 fried bean curds, 豆腐 tofu, 魚餅 fish cakes, 半個水煮蛋 half of a boiled-egg and ONE single large 大魚(肉)丸 fish or maybe meat ball; 沒有肉 no meat nor 沒有蛤蜊 clams (and also did not find in the bowl what looks like 碎肉 minced meat in the picture menu). Honestly, it is acceptable but slightly expensive for the concoction.
The restaurant is currently also offering a rm$1.10 咖啡 Kopi/ 黑咖啡 Kopi O Hot or Ice, and it will be closed in a few days time to make way to renovations and is planned to reopen early November next month. 芙蓉姨婆老鼠粉 Restoran Yi Poh (PJ branch) is now open for Dine-in but it looks like most customers only come for Take-away.
Where "芙蓉姨婆老鼠粉 Restoran Yi Poh" is located, which is about 1km 八打靈再也南部 South of Petaling Jaya (PJ) New Town, this Seksyen 1 八打靈老鎮 PJ Old Town is the oldest urban area within the city of Petaling Jaya, which was once the site a squatter resettlement scheme in the 1950s, the area soon became the beginning of 馬來西亞第一個戰後新城 Malaysia's first post-war new town. Petaling Jaya is divided originally into numbered sections (also known as Seksyen), and 芙蓉姨婆老鼠粉 Restoran Yi Poh is located in PJ Seksyen 1 (there are Seksyen 1 to at least Seksyen 51). And then, there are areas called SS like your popular food places like those in SS2 or SS20 Damansara Uptown (which are 八打靈再也中西部 Central and Western PJ from SS1 to SS26 Taman Mayang), "八打靈再也北端 Petaling Jaya Utara" (PJU) are places in Northern PJ like Ara Damansara all to way to before the old Subang Airport. And finally "八打靈再也南端 Petaling Jaya Selatan" (PJS) areas are located in Southern PJ which is Sunway Pyramids and its vicinity (from PJS1 to PJS11).
