Thoughts: Wasn't too impressed with the Wanton Mee here 14 months ago 28.03.2020 (MCO1.0), same today! The 叉燒 charsiew isn't the tender type and slightly chewy, perhaps no the best pork part for the charsiew recipe. This time, instead of soup wanton, it came with fried wanton.
蜜汁叉燒 Charsiew can be very addictive, especially when it is tender 半肥瘦五花肉 half-fat pork belly, juicy texture and 炭烤 charcoal roasted with thick 焦糖 caramelized sauce. Some say that the "瘦肉叉燒 Leaner Charsiew" is a relatively healthy food to consume moderately when trying to lose weight because it is high in protein and low in fat. In fact, as long as it is "the recipe is not too sweet or fat", some would argue that 叉燒飯 Charsiew Rice is healthier than 雞飯 Chicken rice!

叉燒 Charsiew (or English: Char Siu), originated in 廣東 Guangdong, 中國China, is a common ingredient in 廣東省 Guangdong Province, 香港 Hong Kong and 澳門 Macau. 傳統的叉燒 Traditional Charsiew is made by roasting pork on the fire with a fork on wood or charcoal (probably that is how its name came about as叉= Fork and 燒=Burn) . In recent years, it has also become popular to use 家庭小烤箱 small household ovens or 對流式烤箱 Convection ovens to bake the Charsiew or 鍋煎 Pan fried method. 叉燒 Charsiew is not just popular in Mandarin/Cantonese speaking 中港澳台新馬 countries but also in 越南 Vietnam, 菲律賓 Philippines, 日本 Japan, 泰國 Thailand, 印度尼西亞 Indonesia, and some Western countries like 美國 US, 夏威夷 Hawaii, and 英國 UK.
