Thoughts: So far, I have come here for Happy Hours 3 times this month. Parking here is $1 only (today was here for around 3 hours). Tropicana City Mall is likely a well known "Watering Hole" neigbouring the SS 2 or Damansara area for residents and office workers near by! At both the LG & Ground floor of the Mall, there are plenty of eateries and at least half-a-dozen of Happy Hour spots with good choice of Food as well. Goinng out to an "open area" at Ground floor of the Mall, immediately you can find flocks of people 7 days a week in the evenings enjoying a beer or two (usually more). There are
Power Plant, S'Mores, and Brussels Beer Cafe, the Trio all serving beer as well as food (non-Halal).
After trying out Brussels and Power Plant, today I am visiting S'Mores. Today's Happy Hour venture was it's Vodka, Cider, and a Porkly finger good! Very Good, although I prefer Brussels Craft Beer and Power Plant's Grills!
Inside the Mall, there are more Watering Holes like S.Wine and 3 Little Pigs both serving not just alcohol but non-halal food. A couple of times coming here, I find a very positive atmosphere of young people enjoying a drink or two with colleagues and friends after work hours; its a good thing! Looking forward to be here again in August!
Coming back to the food and drinks today. 伏特加酒 Vodka on the rocks with Soda and Cranbeery (1 for 1 at $28), definitly something different to my taste buds. It's served with a single-shot "Absolute Vodka". Interestingly "Absolut Vodka" is a brand of 140 year old vodka, produced near Åhus, in southern Sweden owned by French Company. It's 40% alcohol content and surprisingly extremely smooth.
南乳炸肉 Lam Yu Pork Belly, a bit oily but great with beer. It's a Hakka dish and to my knowledge, 客家南乳炸肉 焖木耳 Hakka Nam Yu Fried Meat With Black Fungus is something served on a particular day of Chinese New Year (either day 2 or day 3). But just the tasty Lam Yu fried meat itself is definitely something that goes well with beer!
喜力啤酒 Heineken Malaysia Berhad, known for its Strongbow cider, is introduced a new cider in 2017, "Apple Fox" from New Zealand! Interestingly, "Apple Fox" also known as Orchard Thieves, “it’s as sly as the fox and thus can be found in different markets under different names.” The cider is called Orchard Thieves in Ireland, Jabolčni Tat in Slovenia, Milo Kleftis in Greece, Lišiak zo sadu in the Czech Republic and Stibitzer in Austria. The bottle shows an ABV of 4.5%.
