Food Thoughts: If you would like to try out some Ipoh style noodles in Shah Alam, here is one in Glenmarie called Yob & Yong's. The new restaurant at the corner of Glenmarie U1/40 already in business for several months. According to the owner in the area of Ipoh, "Yob" means Brother and "Yung" (most people pronounced it as Yong) mans Sister and theregore Yob & Yong means Brother and Sister. Hailed from Mengelembu, the restaurant co-owned by a Malay and Chinese serving "Authentic" Home-cook Ipoh Style recipes.
When asked for the must eat here, I was offered either soup noodle or the Ipoh Mee Kicap (MiKicap) and I settled for the later one. It's halal, and therefore only fish ball and fish cake accompanying the yellow noodle, somewhat simple but the black kicap comes with a "kick" of spiciness (cili) making a simple plate of noodle a little exciting!
The shop is clean, both the boss and crew serving the food were polite. The shop, being at the corner away from the bustling chinese shops at Glenmarie; it is "cleaner" compared to the chinese kopitiams! I like what I tasted today and perhaps to try their Ipoh noodle soup next time.
