24.02.2017 Bahrain visit
@ Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain
Thoughts: Got my daily driver to Al Ezzel to bring in around Manama today. The trip was around 2.5 hours, mostly in the car.
First we head for Manama with all those "spectacular" high rise, and many more underway in construction. Maybe it is trying to be like Dubai. The architecture are much more spectacular than those in KL. But trying to catch them on picture via a phone while the car is moving does seem too challenging.
After driving past those fancy architecture, caught a few with my phone camera. Ramesh (the driver) decided to drop by the biggest Market in Manama. It has 3 main buildings, one selling mutton, another selling fruits and vege, and the last one selling fish. Other buildings are wholesale selling in bulk. Surprisingly, even the market surroundings is clean. I can really say it is much cleaner than our KL markets (what a shame!). Quite cool to be walking around the market, wish had more time.
Next we went to the fishing port. Stopped for few minutes, nothing much to see anyway.
Oh! we stopped by for Masala tea. Like a drive-in, everyone parked their car, rolled down the window and someone will come for the order where the tea will be brought to the car. Cool.
Yeah, before we arrived at the Masala tea place, we saw a car overturned like a turtle. Ramesh told me it is usual after Thursday, on Fridays and Saturdays; many people get drunk and drive crazily on the roads of Bahrain!
Last stop was the sea port and return to the hotel.
In my opinion, Bahrain is quite a "clean" city. Compared to KL, it is quite shameful that KL is rubbish everywhere especially China Town. The clean areas are the tourist areas.
I wish my stay could have been at the city centre where I can explore abit every morning. Unfortunately, Al Safir hotel where I am at is somewhat seems a new township (I think) for multinational working people serving perhaps the industrial parks.
