Today's take-away lunch is Safaa's rm$12.90 "布哈拉雞 Chicken Bukhara", the dish comes with long-grain basmati rice with Chicken along with Dhal and Onion Raitha (酸奶 Yoghurt, 大蔥 green onions & 辣椒 chili). The spiced filled cooked basmati rice was definitely flavorful but chicken was a bit too dry, and the dish does look very much like 咖哩雞肉香料飯 Chicken Biryani! According to Google search results, is that "布哈拉雞 Chicken Bukhara" is a type of Biryani and one of the more popular "Bukhara Biryani" around town is SS19's Restoran Syed! And Bukhara Briyani is named after a city in 烏茲別克斯坦 Uzbekistan that is famous for its cuisine and Islamic influence in the food; a "莫臥兒料理 Moghul recipe", a North Indian and Pakistan culture. However, there are also articles that describe that he Origin of Biryani to be from 波斯 Persia (今天的伊朗 Iran) with the word Biryani itself derived from the Persian language meaning "fried or roasted".
