Thoughts: Last visit here was June.06.2020 last year and had the 干捞叉烧云吞面 Charsiew Wanton Mee (dry) for breakfast. The single shop lot kopitiam still offers 2 hawker stalls for the morning session which is the Wanton Mee stall as well as another variety noodles (pork noodle, fish paste noodle and fish ball noodle). The is the 3rd visit to SS14's S.K Lim, all 3 times for the Wanton Mee! The night session here is the popular 炭炒福建面 Charcoal fried Hokkine Mee from KL China Town's "茨厂街福建面 Chee Cheong Kai Hokkine Mee". That is probably a must try besides the more popular "新青山亞华福建面 Restoran Xin Chin San", also in SS14.

Restoran S.K Lim probably is the smallest kopitiam shop lot in SS14 with only 2 hawker stalls, maybe around 5 tables inside the shop and 4 tables at the walkway entrance to the shop lot (perfect for early morning breakfast). Monday mornings are off-days for road side hawkers and make-shift market stalls along SS14/2A and therefore parking on Mondays are likely easier even around 9am+.
The Wanton Mee stall offers 豬肉碎 Minced Pork, 炸雲吞 Fried Wanton, 煮水雲吞 Soup Wanton, 雞腳 Chicken Feet or 叉燒雲吞面 Charsiew Wanton Mee either in dry or soup variants, all from rm$6.50 to rm$7.50 (same price as 1 year ago). Today's breakfast is sampling the 煮水叉燒雲吞麵 Soup Charsiew and Wanton Wanton Mee. For the price of rm$6.50, it comes with 3 good size Fresh Wanton, and the soup version Wanton Mee was bad at all, along with not too bad Charsiew. Cannot resist the 滷雞腳 Braised Chicken Feet (2pcs for rm2.50), well braised with the tasty 滷水.
4 Wanton Mee worth visiting at least once along the Bak Kut Teh street of SS14 are:
雲吞麵 (or 餛飩麵) Wanton Mee is said to be originated from 广州 Guang Zhou (during the 清朝 Qing dynasty 1644- 1911), and it flourished in Hong Kong somewhere in the 1940s or 50s. The history is that the dish was introduced to Hong Kong by the Guangzhou wonton legend 麥煥池 Mak Woon-chi (廣東雲吞面大王 The Wanton Mee King of Guang Dung". The legeend started his first Wanton Mee stall on the streets of Guang Zhou in the 1920s but soon after World War II, Mak migrated to Hong Kong to open the now famous 麥奀雲吞麵世家 Mak’s Noodle. And many said that 香港島 Hong Kong Island 中環 Central's "麥奀雲吞麵世家 Mak's Noodle" is still the best in Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, the usual for Wanton Mee is noodles in a bowl of soup with wantons called "细蓉 or "Sai Yong" (in Cantonese)" and the Wantons are usually 鮮蝦雲吞 prawn based while the 海鮮湯底 soup is seafood based. Unlike Malaysian style 大马黑酱油云吞面 Wanton Mee in KL which is served basically with dark sauce (幹撈 dry version) but some stalls will also have option for the soup version (like today's breakfast). In Hong Kong, it can be said that one can easily find a Wanton Mee shop all over Hong Kong island in "almost every street corner" as it is probably true that are more noodle shops than 7-11 over there.Restoran S.K Lim金記好好食云吞面家 Restoran Good Taste安记芽菜鸡饭 Restoran On Kee“肥佬森”云吞面 Fei Lou Sum Wanton Mee (王信记茶餐室Restoran Wong Soon Kee)
Not sure if S.K.Lim's "细蓉 Sai Yong" is anything like the ones in Hong Kong, but the authentic 100-year-old recipe 百年老字号 "Mak's Chee" now have branches in Singapore and Malaysia. In Klang Valley, an authentic bowl of Mak's Chee recipe of 细蓉 "Sai Yong" can be found in 1-Utama, Mid-Valley, or Pavilion Elite.
