Thoughts: The 10-year old Toshiba TV gave up finally (the non smart TV cost over rm$3500 then). Today's smart TV for sizes below 60" costs are below rm$3000, and the LG55UN7400 55" UHD Smart TV is at rm$2730.
The model is not 4K but "UHD" (Ultra High Definition); the simplest way of defining the difference between 4K and UHD is that 4K is a professional production and cinema standard, while UHD is a consumer display and broadcast standard. That said, UHD is the next step up from what’s called full HD, where the official name for the display resolution of 1,920 by 1,080 as full HD. UHD quadruples that resolution to 3,840 by 2,160. From the super expensive 65" maybe around rm$15,000 1080p Plasma TV 10 years ago, to the 4K TV of the same size selling roughly at rm$10,000 barely 5 years ago. But when 4K became the Standard 2-3 years ago, prices of 4K TVs dropped tremendously and today, one can find most brands of 65" 4K TV below rm$3,500.
