@ Murni Sue at Ayu & Syara Restoran in Shah Alam (Click to Google Map)
Jalan Lengkuas 16/18, Off Jalan Sungai Rasau, Seksyen 16, 41300 Shah Alam, Selangor
GPS Location: 3°03'28.4"N 101°29'05.6"E
Highlights: Halal, Outdoor-seatings
Budget: $10/person
Cuisine: Javanese, Indonesia
安班米饭(马来盘菜饭) Nasi Ambeng $7.50 👍👍👍😋😋😋
Thoughts: This is a must try if you happen to be in Shah Alam but the restoran is hidden somewhere in Seksyen 16 Shah Alam (off Jalan Sungai Rasau), near Puspakom Padang Jawa (300-400 meters). The owner used to just offer delivery services for her nasi ambeng (see facebook below) but has recently (just few days ago) openend her stall at Restoran Ayu & Syara.
This Nasi Ambeng version is presented with white rice in the middle (and just like the picture advertised in front of her stall), garnished with 马来酱油炸鸡 Ayam Goreng Kicap (Soy Sauce Fried Chicken), 椰子丝 Serunding Kelapa (Fried shredded coconuts), 咸鱼 Ikan Masin (Salted Fish), 黄瓜 Timun (Cucumber), 炒面 Mee Goreng (Fried Noodles), and 爪哇炒叁巴 Sambal Goreng Jawa (Fried Sambal "Jawa' style"). Although the mentioned items seems odd in the beginning but interestingly, there all seem to come together well; a wonderful and fascinating dish of Javanese-Malay cuisine.
Nasi Ambeng is said to be a popular cuisine for the Javanese-Malay communities in Kuala Selangor, Johor and also in Singapore. But the dish originates from the Island of Java, Indonesia. It is said to be a dish usually served during festivities such as birthdays, weddings, and thanksgiving (doa selamat). Perhaps different chef may have their own ideas to make a good Nasi Ambeng; that is why I will be looking out for Nasi Ambeng elsewhere at least within Klang Valley or KL.
Review: 8 / 10 👍👍👍😋😋😋
