大樹下海鮮飯店(海墘) Weld Quay (Tree Shade) Da Shu Xia Seafood House was relocated some years ago to corner lot at the junction of Gat Lebuh Amenian and Victoria Street. The Seafood restaurant seemed to have an interesting story, it has a humble beginning as a "煮炒 Chu Char" restaurant with a location somewhere in Weld Quay and under a "Big Tree". It was known to locals in its earlier days as a destination for affordable lunch and dinner for office and family gatherings for a casual meal. Over the years, the restaurant has moved to different locations in Georgetown until it ended at the present location.
The ordering system here is to go to the seafood counter area where fresh seafood and vegetables can be found. Choose the seafood items, or non-seafood items, plus any vegetables seen on display; then ask for cooking style suggestion which basically is Teochew or sambal and maybe other styles. This unique order style of "Point and choose what is available option" has been the methods of the seafood restaurant for many years BUT feel free to check the prices before confirming the order as some seafood items could be quite pricey!
