Thoughts: Re-visiting USJ14's "建成茶餐室 Restoran Keong Seng" for lunch today and yes the Restoran does have a menu, offering Single dishes "碟头饭Dip Tao Fan" as well as 叫菜吃饭 dishes. Singls dishes are either rice or noodles with prices from rm$7.50 to rm$12 per plate.

Today's rm$11 "鹹魚花腩飯 Salted Fish Pork Belly Rice" 碟頭飯 (minus the claypot) comes with one small bowl of rice and the 鹹魚花腩 Salted Fish Pork Belly on the side in a mocked banana leaf plate. Definitely good "鍋氣 Wok Hei", with generous amount of sliced 五花腩肉 pork belly meat with lots of 炒姜片 sautéed ginger slices, 葱 shallots, 洋蔥 onions, and 干辣椒 dried chili, and likely fried with 生抽 Soya Sauce, lots of 黑醬油 Dark Soya sauce, and 蠔油 Oyster sauce. The concoction was a little spicy and salty (expected of as it is a 咸鱼 salted fish dish).

鹹魚花腩煲 Salted Fish Pork Belly is a dish that entice one to have 一道很下飯的菜餚 a lot more rice due to the saltiness of the dish; a dish normally can be ordered in most "大炒 Dai Chao" 叫菜吃飯 not just in Malaysian restaurants, but as I recalled also restaurants in 香港 Hong Kong and down under in 新加坡 Singapore, especially in 粵菜館 Cantonese dish restaurants! The dish is almost most likely served in a claypot hence 鹹魚花腩煲 Claypot Salted Fish Pork Belly but for a Single dish meal, the concoction comes with rice on the same plate. It is obviously a pork dish but variants could be either 豬五花腩肉厚片/薄片 Thick and thin slice of Pork Belly.

One typical style of Cantonese 鹹魚花腩飯 Salted Fish Pork Belly Rice includes the following ingredients:

豬五花腩肉厚片/薄片 Thick slices/thick slices of pork belly

醬油 Soy sauce 

黑醬油 Dark Soy sauce

蠔油 Oyster sauce 

紹興花雕酒 Shaoxing wine 

 (Marinate all of the above for maybe 2 hours)

梅香鹹魚適量 Plum flavored salted fish 

(Stir-fry the salted fish until fragrant) 

辣椒乾 Dried chili

姜 Ginger

青蔥 Shallots 

蒜米 Garlic

大洋蔥 Large onion

(乾)魷魚絲 Dried Shredded Squid 

(Stir-fry all of the above until fragrant)  

A closer look at the menu again, and the rm$10 瓦煲皇帝麵 Claypot Emperor Mee, rm$12 香港芥蘭烧肉飯 Hong Kong Kai Lan Roasted Pork rice as well as the 福州紅酒雞麵線 Hock Chew Mee Hoon are highly recommended by the waiter. And 2 visits both with positive experience, will certainly come back to sample other dishes offered by SS14's "建成茶餐室 Restoran Keong Seng".
