Thoughts: Arrived early at Kampung Cempaka's wet market area with high hopes for a good breakfast; the Roasted items (Charsiew and Roasted pork) arrived in a car at 7am and unfortunately the steamed chickens were not ready even at 7:30am when I finished to Wanton Mee. If the charsiew today will be the same recipe tomorrow, forget ordering it as it is very chewy; while the roasted pork was very crispy, tender and still warm. I'd skip the charsiew for the roasted pork next time. But still disappointed about the steam chicken wasn't ready; maybe 8am or later is a better time to visit Kampung Cempaka's On Kee, next time!
I would think that this On Kee at Kampung Cempaka and the one in SS14 are the same (and pretty sure they have no relations with the famous Ipoh "Onn Kee"!). Two visits to the SS14 On Kee were respectively on 26.01.2019 and 10.06.2020 (around the RMCO) with positive as well as mixed experiences!
Today's parking at 7am is easy as the Cempaka Wet Market is not opened on Mondays! Don't mind coming back for On Kee's steam chicken Wanton Mee next time, but still there are several other Chinese Kopitiams around the Cempaka Wet Market to explore for early breakfast!
