巴生肉骨茶 Klang's Bak Kut Teh (BKT) history traces back to early 20th-century 中國福建的華人移民 Chinese immigrants (mostly 福建人 Hokkien) from Fujian, China, 價格低廉且營養豐富的食物 seeking cheap, fortifying meals; Klang became famous for it, with early versions being a simple, 肉骨茶是用豬骨熬煮的藥材湯 herbal pork bone broth with "當歸 Dong Kwai", 受勞工的喜愛 enjoyed by laborers. Key figures like 李文德 Lee Boon Teh (founder of "盛發肉骨茶 Seng Huat Bak Kut Teh", which is more welcome under the name of "橋底肉骨茶 Under the Bridge Bak Kut Teh") helped popularize and evolve the dish in the 1930s and 1940s, creating distinct, robust herbal styles, with descendants still running famous shops today, making Klang a renowned Bak Kut Teh hub. There are now estimates of 400 to 500 Bak Kut Teh in Klang alone.
