吞拿魚沙拉 Tuna Salad Nicoise" is a Tuna Salad, the 法式沙拉 French way; an interesting Salad made with the concoction of Canned Tuna! This French. "Nicoise Salad " is probably the best known version, that originated in the 法國尼斯市 French city of Nice. This Salad dish is somewhat hefty and interesting enough for lunch, but not so heavy it loses its 夏日個性 Summery personality. Even the strict demeanor Gordon Ramsay said that "it must be the finest summer salad of all"!
The version known in Nice in the late 19th century was a basic combination of 番茄 tomatoes, 鯷魚 anchovies and 橄欖油 olive oil, described as "窮人的簡單食物 simple food for poor people". Over time, other fresh and mostly 新鮮且主要是生的食材 raw ingredients were added to the salad as served in 法國尼斯市 Nice.
Today, the "Tuna Salad Nicoise" may be a plate with Salad with 番茄 tomatoes, 水煮蛋 hard-boiled eggs, 尼斯橄欖 Niçoise olives and 鳀魚 anchovies or 吞拿魚 tuna, dressed with 橄欖油 olive oil, or 油醋汁 vinaigrette. The salad may also include 生紅辣椒 raw red peppers, 青蔥 shallots, 洋薊心 artichoke hearts and other seasonal raw vegetables; not forgetting 馬鈴薯 potatoes and 生或熟的青豆 raw or cooked green beans harvested in the spring, when they are still young and crisp, may be included. Doi Chaang Caffe offers 5 choices of "GOOD" Salad dish from rm$14.90 to rm$17.90! Definitely will be back to sample other Salad dishes perhaps to go with their 招牌有機藍茶 Signature Organic Blue Tea (or 優質烏龍茶 Premium Oolong)!
