The corner shop lot was "金華茶室 Restoran Jing Hwa" multi-hawker stall kopitiam, and with several weeks of renovation, it is now one of the "Kaw Kaw Pakkopi" branch locations.
At least both the SS2 and new USJ10 branch locations offers the same Menu choices, but the new USJ10 probably offers a lot of tables because of its corner shop lot location. And yes, finally we can have 燒肉椰漿飯 roasted pork nasi lemak in USJ10. The Kopitiam offers a variety of Noodles and Rice dishes plus Chinese bake pastries starting from rm$8.50 (maybe 20%+ higher than hawker stall prices at multi-stall hawker chinese kopitiams).
濃濃白咖啡 Kaw Kaw Pakkopi is fast becoming a popular spot for breakfast besides the remaining other 2 multi-stall hawkers kopitiam (南京城茶餐室 NanKing & K1 Food Court) in USJ10. And especially weekends, you may have to queue up to get a table! BUT today's signature "江水記客家手工麵 Hakka Homemade Noodles" wasn't that impressive, maybe the "江水記叉燒雲吞麵 Kong Swee Kee Charsiew Wanton Mee" or the Roasted Pork Nasi Lemak or their Curry Noodles next time.
Nearby in SS15, there is also an interesting "Yitcha Kawkaw Kopitiam SS15 壹茶濃濃咖啡店" which seemed to offer similar style of Kopitiam layout with Chinese Baked Pastries varieties at the front of its shop (equipped with ovens) as well as noodle dishes in a Retro Layout. Several weekends driving passed that SS15 Kopitiam saw customers queue up to get in; it does look like a new trend of Retro-style Chinese Kopitiam is probably in the making, with air-conditioning and cleaner layout than traditional multi-stall hawkers kopitiams; and as long as the prices of food are still competitive, why not!
江水記 Kong Swee Kee is an 80 year old family business in Ipoh that specializes in manufacturing noodles with its base in Ipoh; it is famous as a wholesale supplier of 雲吞麵 wanton noodles, 客家麵 hakka noodles, 餛飩皮 wanton skin, as well as other noodles varieties to many hawkers in ipoh. Kaw Kaw Pak Kopi's 2 signature Wanton Mee and Hakka Noodle must be using the Kong Swee Kee noodles since the 2 menu signature menu items are listed as "江水記雲吞麵 Kong Swee Kee Wanton Mee" and "江水記客家手工麵 Kong Swee Kee Hakka Noodle".
