Thoughts: So, after some Googling for a Cafe; and a little help from Waze to arrive at Black Wood Cafe for lunch and Coffee. Although the address is Ara Damansara, it is really not that far from PJ's Paradigm Mall, and inside the 2nd floor of Eve Suite which I think an apartment/service residents block. The first few floors of Eve Suite are mostly offices and usual amenities like laundry, convenience store and surprisingly 4 clinics. The basement parking is free (for now), you can take the escalator to the Cafe via the South Wing to the 2nd floor; most units are occupied by offices, so the place does look deserted. It is easy to locate Eve Suite as it is just next to the Lembah Subang LRT station and just behind PJ's Paradigm Mall.
Black Wood Cafe basically offers Coffee, Western, Asian and I think some Fusion recipes. The "卡博納拉意粉 Carbonara" for rm$18.90 is at a good standard, it comes with super creamy and cheesy sauce and topped with onions, chicken ham and mushroom. And the Rose Latte did not disappoint as well.
The Cafe probably was already here since early 2016 (4+years); with a spacious layout, quite a comfortable ambiance, nice soft music and comes with good wifi speed. The interior walls were not Black entirely, but rather black-gray, "darkish" white brick walls and a light maroon wall adorned with a picture of a deer and a classic leather chair beneath it; perhaps true to be a little mysterious and yet welcoming!
The Cafe opens only from noon onward, but after 2:30pm maybe is the optimal time for working with a laptop here; unfortunately electric wall plugs to the tables seems quite limited and on-the-house drinking water is not available. I'd say a rather nice find on a really boring Friday! Considering the free parking, good wifi speed, fairly good food and coffee, as well as excellent quiet corners; Black Wood Cafe is definitely a good place to get some work done on a laptop in the afternoons.
