Thoughts: The signature steam fish of "regular spicy" is already quite spicy with lots of 文冬姜 Bentong ginger, garlic and 小辣椒 chili paid; but at rm$18.50 for the "清蒸非洲鱼 Steamed Tilapia", the perfectly steamed fresh fish was super delicious. For the price, perfectly matches the restaurant's motto of "一人一鱼" or "One person One fish"! At Restoran Lan Je, you need not have to kill your brain cells to decide what style of fish cooking you should order as there is only one recipe: it is simply only 非洲鱼 Talapia fish steamed with soy sauce and topped with bean paste sauce, diced ginger, shredded garlic and chili padi and just choose between 3 levels of spiciness: none, regular, or extreme! The size of the steamed Talapia is good for 1-2 person consumption.
Another dish worth ordering is the "上汤啦啦 Clams Broth" which comes with large fresh 啦啦 Lala or Clams swimming in boiling hot broth that was infused with the super hot Bentong Ginger.
蘭姐清蒸非洲鱼 Restoran Lan Je at USJ 1 is Pork free, the menu items are basically seafood, tofu, chicken dishes and vegetables; maybe 24+ dishes. Not too many dishes in their menu but the 4 items sampled today were definitely above average. The signature steamed fish is definitely a must order here, and the prices are generally quite reasonable.
The branch visited was at USJ 1 which opens for lunch and dinner. Parking is usually easier in the evenings around USJ 1's Regalia Business Centre. However, there are more than 10 branches of Restoran Lan Je in Klang Valley; from Rawang, Port Klang, to Cheras, Sungai Buloh, Puchong etc and the USJ 1 branch. 蘭姐清蒸非洲鱼 Lan Jie Steamed Fish, originated from 万挠 Rawang with this novelty way to serve steamed fish, 一人一鱼 (Literally means ” One Fish Per Person”). This idea was brought up 蘭姐 Sister Lan Jie, the maestro of this concept; which happens to be the name of the Restaurant.
