Thoughts: Although slightly expensive, but the TTDI Market is a popular grocery destination for nearby KL as well as PJ folks. The trunk road of Jalan Damansara precisely is splits PJ's SS20, SS21 with KL's TTDI. One of the reason for the Market's popularity is because the market vendors are open for business until 7pm in the evenings. TTDI Market has 3 floors, while the first 2 floors are the dry and wet market areas; the 3rd floor offers breakfast and lunch.
Today for breakfast, I am visiting "Chanai and Chaya Cafe" which is said to be a favorite foodo haunt for many years now. The Stall No TD61 started back in 1985 by Devayani Nair and offers South Indian Cooking but morning is Indian Roti. Today, Devayani's daughter Pathmavati and grandson Vijendran Nair are running the show.
For breakfast, I requested for the Apom Telur and in no time, Mr Vijendran made me one hot from the wok. It's self service, so customers order and later collect the food when ready and pay for it before looking for a seat.The rm$3 Apom Telur was a bit expensive but after tasting it, I can understand many have good comments about it.
The stall offers not only Apom Telur, but also Thosai, Idli, Chapati, Roti Canai, Roti Planta, Roti Sardine, Fried noodles etc. On the 3rd floor, I believe there aren't any Chinese vendors; so, all that's offered here are Halal Indian and Malay food with maybe 20+ stalls. A good place for breakfast as it is clean and DBKL parking outside the Market is very possible around 7-8am+ in the morning.
