Food Thoughts: Yesterday was here for the Malay desserts (for lunch), today came here for a real meal. For meals, not everything in the menu are offered everyday; what is offered for the day is listed at the Cashier where you order your food, pay, get a number for the waiter/waitress to deliver the food to your table.
I ordered the Nasi Hujan Panas which is colorful "rainbow" rice with sweet/spicy chicken drumstick on 辣椒红鸡 Ayam Masak Merah. Basically its spicy sauce but also comes with some honey sweetness to it. The plate is garnished with acar, papadam, and curry sauce; wished it came with a hard boiled/fried egg.
Another dish on today's special ordered was the "马来薄烤饼 Lempeng" which is really a simple "round-shaped" pancake but comes with a bowl of sambal sauce instead of "honey"!
Final taste testing dish ordered was the "马来虾饼 Takua Cucur Udang" (Prawn Fritters), interestingly the Malays also called it "Jumpa Jumpa Udang"! Cucur Udang is likely one of the all time Malaysian favourite tea-time snacks. Here, at KUeh Cafe, it is served with Satay Sauce.
Review: 6 / 10 👍😋
