Food Thoughts: Prices range from $2.20 to Cha Siew Bao to $15, but Dim Sum like 燒賣 "Siew Mai" Pork & Shrimp Dumpling $4.50, 糯米雞 Loh Mai Kai $4.50, 鮮虾滑腸粉 Prawn Chee Cheong Fun $4.50, 虾餃 "Har Gao" Shrimp Dumpling $5; Generally most Dim Sum we are familiar are around $4.50 - $6. Of course, don't compare with 大港中菜点心 Grand Harbour Restaurant in USJ Damen where Dim Sum prices begins at $12.50 per plate (almost 3 times the price)! For me, the price at 大港 includes the ambience, food presentation, service, air-conditioning etc but food wise... perhaps up to the individual taste and budget.
Worth mentioning is the 腐竹雞扎 Bamboo Chicken $5 which is steamed chicken wrapped together with carrot, mushroom, corn using 腐竹 Tofu skin, well marinated and juicy. To me, the 鮮虾滑腸粉 Prawn Chee Cheong Fun $4.50 is also one of my favorites and it always comes with fresh shrimps and very soft chee cheong fun skin with their home-made belachan dippings on the side. Today's 鼓汁鳳爪 Chili Chicken Feet $4.50 however was a little bit disappointing as it was a bit mushy likely due to refrigeration. 虾餃 "Har Gao" Shrimp Dumpling $5 always in good presentation and taste; I wouldn't stick my neck out and claim its the best but its something always worth picking up from the Dim-Sum Cart each time visiting Hoong Foong.
There are easily at least 50 Foong's Dim Sum choices at Hoong Foong. It is all day Dim Sum if you happen to be in USJ (from as early as 7am to 10pm), do come early on weekends but weekdays are usually less crowded. On weekends, they opened up the next shop lot space for the larger crowd while weekdays only open their main shop on no.79.
