Thoughts: Merchant's Lane is just a few steps from ChoCha FoodStore on Jalan Petaling. It has a prominent sign-board (a mirror above the door) leading you to the 2nd floor of this pre-war shop lot.
It is a cafe with a twist also for local and western food choice (one page for food and one page for drinks).
The atmosphere created at the back of the restaurant is lush greeneries with a lot of sunlight while the front portion have more tables but with a high roof making it look spacious despite the tables.
Ordering your food here is first getting a menu yourself, and then find a table/seat, after you have decided on what you want, do to the counter to order and pay for it, and get a number. Do make sure you put something on the table you kind of "booked" as if you leave the table, someone might just put a pen of pencil there signifying they took booked it. This is a difficult thing especially for single person.
There are a lot to offer here, at around lunch time it does seem packed with customers! I bet non-peak times like 3-5pm should find oneself in a more relaxing environment especially if one goes to be "back" away from the main dining area.
After lunch at ChoCha, I am finding myself here with a Piccolo Latte (in Italy, it is also called a "baby Latte"). Nice!
