The founder and CEO of Salad Atelier is a Dylan Lee. He co-founded the 健康快餐連鎖店 healthy fast-casual food chain alongside Wendy Wong. As a 金融專家 Financial Expert, while working in Singapore, Dylan noticed that salads were an everyday staple. After reading about Malaysia's high obesity rates, he was inspired to launch a 健康為核心的餐飲品牌 health-focused F&B brand back home. The duo started Salad Atelier in 2014 with a single DIY salad kiosk at The Weld in Kuala Lumpur. To appeal to the local market, they 聘請了一位營養師 brought in a dietitian to design familiar Malaysian dishes with a healthy twist, such as Nasi Lemak SA. Today, the brand operates as part of the Multi Brands Food Empire (MBFE Sdn Bhd) and has expanded to over 30 outlets across Malaysia, including the 巴生谷 Klang Valley, 檳城 Penang, and 新山 Johor Bahru.

Many modern heathy F&B (Pokebowl, DIY options, Salad with or w/o meats bowls) tried their luck in Klang Valley since 2013-2014 and some of the remaining ones that still in operation are:

Dedicated clean-eating and wholesome spots like Goodness Greens Cafe (by La Juiceria) and Salad Atelier in 2014 & 2015. Then in 2018, Fast-casual grain and poke bowl chains like Agrain launched their first outlets in corporate hubs like Menara Hap Seng.
