Thoughts: Overall, most health experts and dietitians would not recommend KFC products as part of a healthy diet. Fried chicken, KFC's signature product, is 高熱量 high in calories, 高脂肪 fat, and 高鹽含量 salt, and has been linked to many health risks, including 體重增加 weight gain and 糖尿病 diabetes. BUT, despite with all the fat and salt; the crunchy chicken skin and juicy meat is still "好吃到舔手指 Finger-Lickin' good" and it is not that bad! Although due to the current circumstances surrounding COVID-19, the KFC team behind the chicken have decided the slogan is no longer appropriate for the current environment!

KFC’s "好吃到舔手指 It’s Finger Lickin’ Good" was created off the cuff by a 餐廳經理 restaurant manager in the 1950s. 肯德基創始人"哈蘭·桑德斯" Harland Sanders, the founder of KFC, ran a service station in 科爾賓 Corbin, 肯塔基州 Kentucky in the 1930s, serving food for hungry travelers along the highway. In 1935, his cooking was becoming famous and he was made a 肯塔基州上校稱號 Kentucky Colonel (the highest honour the state can bestow) by governor Ruby Laffoon to recognise his contribution to cuisine.
As more people started coming in just to eat, 桑德斯 Sanders moved his operation to the other side of the road to increase capacity. By the early 1950s, he had long since perfected the secret blend of herbs and spices still used by KFC to this day. He also had the idea of franchising his dining concept, and it was a 特許經營商 franchisee from 鳳凰城 Phoenix, 戴夫·哈曼 Dave Harman, who inspired the company’s famous phrase.
In the afternoon, between movies, Harman voiced TV commercials advertising his restaurant, but, following a stroke, he was unable to speak clearly so his restaurant manager, Ken Harbough, stepped in to do the ads instead. Because Harman still wanted to appear in the ads, he would accompany Harbough to the TV station and take a plate of chicken, which he would eat in the background during filming. However, following the transmission of one of the ads a woman called the TV station complaining angrily that “Mr Harman is licking his fingers!” The story goes that Harbough spontaneously replied, “Well, it’s finger lickin’ good”.
Along with an illustrated head and shoulders portrait of the Colonel, the slogan appeared as part of the franchise’s branding almost immediately, and both the phrase and Sanders’ image have been synonymous with the brand ever since until 2020's Covid 19 when it doesn't seem appropriate anymore by the KFC corporate team.
