Thoughts: About 7 years ago, Tonkatsu by Ma Maison opened its first outlet in Kuala Lumpur in January 2013, which is located at the second floor at Eat Paradise, Isetan, I Utama. I believe it now has locations at Publika, Mont Kiara, and of course for a few years now at USJ21's Main Place Mall. The restaurant serves its signature variety of Tonkatsu dishes; which are breaded deep-fried pork cutlets, it's a popular dish in Japan.
Menu items does not seem cheap almost all at above rm$40+, I ordered their No. 1 best seller which is the "Mameton Set" which comes with deep fried prawn, pork loin and pork fillet. You have choice of either white rice or multi-grain rice. On the side are lots of 白菜 cabbage and a bowl of 豚汁 tonjiru (pork miso soup). The Rice, Cabbage, and Tonjiru are refillable! The set also comes with some pickles as well as a small cup (size of chawanmushi cup) of "soup with noodles"! There are also an array of sauce for the dipping of different fried Tonkatsu. Yeah, the green tea was free and refillable as well. The food quality was very good for the price paid and I conclude it to be an enjoyable meal.
According to its website, Tonkatsu by Ma Maison was founded by Akinori Terazawa in Tokyo, Japan back in 1976. It has about 16 outlets in Japan, overseas venture in Singapore in Malaysia's Klang Valley.
