Thoughts: The famous Ipoh hand-made bao has been in USJ 6's Restoran Wei Kwan for more than maybe 7,8 or more years now, some say it is an off-shoot of the famous New Taste Paradise hand-made Bao in Bercham (which has been there for more than 30 years!). This "branch" is run by the founder’s daughter, Yeow Cok Fong and their long-time apprentice, Ng Seng Foo. Now with 2 more helpers due to overwhelming business. Here, they sell 12 types of Bao (including 马来糕 MaLai Kow) plus 糯米鸡 Loh Mai Kai and 大鱼蛋 Big Fish Ball.
The Loh Mai Kai comes inside wrapped within 荷叶 "Hor Yip" instead of the usual "recyclable Bowl", and at rm$4 its not too salty, inside were beans, duck egg yoke, fatty pork and mushrooms. Not sure the "大鱼蛋 Big Fish Ball" is home-made but it was tasty. The best seller seems to be always the 叉烧包 Char Siew Bao but the make-shift kitchen in front of my table continue to make them and steam them for customers queuing for it. Many customers come here to tapao the "fresh/not steamed" Baos and take-away with them in the dozens! When you need to have some Char Siew Bao in the morning, you cannot go wrong coming to USJ6 for it and I think it is open 7 days a week!
