安班米饭 Nasi Ambeng $10 👍😋
Highlights: Halal, Fridays lunch time only
Budget: $10/person
Cuisine: Indonesian
Terms: Cash
Parkings: Free on Friday Prayer time
Food Thoughts: Deep inside Shah Alam's Seksyen 19's residential area stands a large mosque (Masjid Al-Ubidayah), parking is generally not a problem as there is a large open field next to the mosque. On fridays, you will also find temporary food stalls along a road leading to the mosque. (may a dozen of them).
And here, there is one stall selling Nasi Ambeng with is served with the typical kelapa serunding (fried shredded coconut) and ikan masin (salfted fish); there are also at least 5 - 6 choices of chicken cooked with different spices and "chili intensity". The stall also offers Indonesian Perkedil (Fried patato patties). You have to eat with your hands as no cuttleries are provided, there are water for you to wash your hands before and after you eat.
There are lots of trees here shading the make-shift tents with eating tables, still the scorching noon heat makes a "sweating" eating experience especially if you chose the spicy sauce and chicken to go with the Nasi Ambeng.
All in, another interesting place to find the Indonesian Nasi Ambeng on the road side of Shah Alam!
Review: 6 / 10 👍😋
